Friends of Duboce Park will be hosting its annual free pumpkin carving party this October on the Upper Lawn. Stay tuned for more updates.
Although the event is free, please bring your own pumpkin and carving tools. We will have extras available for a small donation in case you forget.
The classic jack-o’-lantern is an established Halloween icon. For those who grew up trick-or-treating, it evokes sweet memories of childhood, costumes and candy.
The Duboce Park neighborhood attracts trick-or-treaters from all over city, particularly on Waller, Pierce, and Carmelita streets. This is a chance to make your own pumpkin to display on Halloween.

Big success! About 100 people of all ages showed up and carved and decorated pumpkins. There were parents showing the carving process to their kids, many of whom had never carved a pumpkin before, and groups of young adults who worked together to create their pumpkins.
