Friends of Duboce Park is hosting its annual free pumpkin carving party on Sunday, October 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Upper Lawn

Although the event is free, please bring your own pumpkin and carving tools. We will have extras in case you forget.

The classic jack-o’-lantern is an established Halloween icon. For those who grew up trick-or-treating, it evokes sweet memories of childhood, costumes and candy.

The Duboce Park neighborhood attracts trick-or-treaters from all over city, particularly on Waller, Pierce, and Carmelita streets. This is a chance to make your own pumpkin to display on Halloween.

Past Pumpkin Carving Events

Big success! About 100 people of all ages showed up and carved and decorated pumpkins. There were parents showing the carving process to their kids, many of whom had never carved a pumpkin before, and groups of young adults who worked together to create their pumpkins.
